Jon Lucas answers question about his return to ABS-CBN's noontime program It's Showtime.

After leaving It's Showtime early this year, Jon Lucas is now busy promoting his two movies: Unli Life and Dito Lang Ako, which he top-bills along with Michelle Vito.

Both movies served as a comeback vehicle for the actor, who just recently admitted that he is now a father and a married man.

Starting his career as part of the Star Magic Circle Batch 2013 and after playing bit roles in teleseryes, he became more popular when he joined It's Showtime's all-male dance group Hashtags.

However, in early 2018, rumors circulated that he got suspended from the show, which is why viewers haven't seen him in the ABS-CBN noontime show.

"Sa Showtime, nag-start ako November 2015.

"Huli akong napanood dun, January 2018. January this year lang."

What does he miss most about being part of It's Showtime?

"Nami-miss ko, yung buong Hashtags saka yung mga hosts. Lahat sila kaibigan ko."

Jon also revealed that he actually asked to temporarily leave the ABS-CBN noontime show.

"Kailangan ko lang mag-move on. Saka ako yung parang humingi ng leave [from Showtime].

"Mas maraming time sa family, sa baby," referring to his son Brycen Christian.

Now that he has admitted the recent developments in his family life, will he still return to the noontime show?

"Sa ngayon, wala pa silang sinasabi. Pero hanggang ngayon, umaasa pa rin nga na kahit papaano, makabalik ako.

Is he still considered a part of the Hashtags?

"Ako para sa akin, forever akong Hashtags.

"Isa ako sa mga nauna at na-launch talaga so kahit ano mang mangyari, kahit hindi na ko makabalik, habambuhay ko sa puso ko ang Hashtags."

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Jon during his Facebook Live session at PEP Headquarters in the Summit Media office, Mandaluyong City last August 7.

"Sa teleserye, wala pa.

"Gusto kong bumalik sa teleserye para matuto ulit sa acting. Kinakalawang na ko, e.

His last teleserye was the 2016 ABS-CBN series We Will Survive

In Unli Life, he is cast as Joey.

"Tatlo kami dito, ang mga characters namin named John, Von, Joey."

As for his movie Dito Lang Ako, he plays a car mechanic.

"Ako dun si Delfin, isang mekaniko na mabait, maginoo.

"Si Michelle dito, siya ang magpe-play ng role ni Nelia.

"Parang magmamahalan kami dito. Pero may karibal kami, si Akihiro Blanco.

"Love triangle kami."

If he gets an offer to do kissing scenes with a leading lady, would that be okay with his wife?

"Ngayon pa lang, naiintindihan niya na artista ako.

"Kung may dumating man na projects na may leading lady, tatanggapin ko."

Is she the jealous type?

"Hindi naman sobra. Medyo," he said with a laugh.

But is he personally willing to do kissing scenes for a project?

"Yun ang hindi ko pa alam. Yun yung hindi ko pa sure.

"Parang off... Pero sabagay, marami namang may asawa na. Bahala na..."

How about doing love scenes on TV or movies?

"Depende siguro sa artista! Joke lang!" he quipped.

"Hindi ko po alam. Hindi po ako marunong sa mga ganun."

Jon disclosed that he just renewed his one-year contract with Star Magic in March 2018.
