ABS-CBN's prime-time program FPJ's Ang Probinsyano has explained its side regarding the viral photo of a car prop that was seen at the Manila Central Post Office.
In an official statement sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) by ABS-CBN's Corporate Communications Department today, September 16, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano explained why the dismantling of the car prop had a slight delay.
Through the statement, the program also apologized for the delay and clarified that it was not their intention to abandon the car in front of the post office.
Here is the full statement:
"FPJ's Ang Probinsyano (FPJAP) would like to clarify that the car used in a taping for an episode at the Manila Central Post Office area had been dismantled and cleared last September 13.
"The initial contractor engaged by the program backed out at the last minute and the production staff had to immediately look for another contractor.
"FPJAP assures there was no intention of abandoning the car and apologizes for the slight delay in the clean-up."
ABS-CBN also sent photos while the car was being dismantled last September 13.
On September 11, Facebook user Roderick Tan posted a photo of the car prop in front of the Manila Post Office.
As told to him by bystanders in the area, the car was already in the area for two days, and was used as prop for an episode of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.
On September 14, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received an e-mail from Edward Celestial (firstname.lastname@example.org) that contains an image from the Manila Post office.
As seen in the photos, the area has been cleaned up already.
The e-mail sender wrote: "Hello po. Dumaan ako sa post office area kanina and nakita ko na malinis na yung daan. Wala ng kotse. Gumawa agad sila ng action."
