Rita Daniela admitted the reason why she was not seen on television for the past two years.
In her recent interview aired in the GMA-7 show Tunay Na Buhay, she disclosed that she almost left the industry.
According to Rita, her studies got in the way of her connecting with people and her co-actors. Her strong facial features also made some people assume that she has an attitude in real life, just like the villains she portrayed on TV.
"That time kasi, I was working on my scholarship in Benilde,” said the student of filmmaking in De La Salle College of Saint Benilde.
“So, every time na hindi ako nasa set, malayo ako sa tao. I go straight to my dressing room, and study and review.
"Pero siguro that time, they felt na masyado akong aloof. They thought na parang may attitude ako. Yeah, [I wanted to quit.] Kasi na feel ko rin na it's not helping me anymore. Naapektuhan ako sobra.
“Yung mga words, yung puyat din, and pagod ako kasi may iba pa akong inaasikaso. Kinain ako nun. It's not helping me anymore."
The 23-year-old actress said it was a struggle for her to balance her career and studies but she made one promise to herself.
“One thing is for sure: I wanna finish my school,” said the actress who was hailed as the grand winner of Popstar Kids Season 1.
Through the help of Gina Alajar, Rita returned to the entertainment industry.
The veteran actress said, “She was misunderstood. It is not in her nature to disrespect her co-actors and co-actresses.”
Rita is now part of GMA-7’s afternoon series My Special Tatay, where she plays Aubrey Palomares. She also sang the theme song of My Special Tatay titled "Kahit Man Lang sa Pangarap."
