ABS-CBN's drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) has just won the Best Single Drama/Telemovie award at the first Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore yesterday, December 6.
MMK's winning entry "Kotse-Kotsehan," internationally titled "Toy Car," was a two-part episode depicting two perspectives of a mother's love for her children.
The episode, which aired in May 2017, was top-bllled by Angel Locsin and Dimples Romana.
MMK business unit head Roda Catolico dela Cerna received the award.
In her short speech, she said, "We share this recognition to the two mothers who entrusted their life stories to MMK. From the men and women behind the program Maalaala Mo Kaya, thank you very much."
MMK qualified for the international gala finals of the Asian Academy Creative Awards after it was declared the national winner in the Best Single Drama/Telemovie category last October 2018.
Meanwhile, Dimples took to her Instagram account to congratulate MMK for its latest accolade.
She wrote, "Ay Lord, napakasarap mo talaga magmahal. Congratulations po Pilipinas!!! Congratulations and thank you po Ma’am @charosantos sa patuloy na pagtitiwala, my @mmkofficial family, my Abscbn Family and my mars forever @therealangellocsin napakahusay mo!

MMK host and creator Charo Santos-Concio also congratulated her show, "Congratulations @mmkofficial for winning the Best Single Drama at the 1st ever Asian Academy Creative Awards!!!

The inaugural Asian Academy Creative Awards is being held as part of the 2018 Singapore Media Festival.
The winners of award-giving body's acting awards will be announced tonight, December 7.
According to its website, the award-giving body was established to "serve the creative industries as the pinnacle of their achievement in content creation and media production."
MMK, which is now on its 27th year, is dubbed as Asia's longest-running drama anthology.
