Sine Novela presents "Saan Darating Ang Umaga?"

Paired for the firsttime in Sine Novela's latest installment, SaanDarating Ang Umaga, are StarStruck luminaries Yasmien Kurdi andDion Ignacio. This afternoon drama premieres today, November 10.

GMA-7 relives the dramaof a Maryo J. Delos Reyes classic film this time on the boobtube as it rendersthe television remake of Saan DaratingAng Umaga?

The eleventh installment of Sine Novela tells the story of a close-knit family suddenly shattered byjealousy and greed. The film version, which was shown in 1983, featured topcaliber actors Nida Blanca, Nestor de Villa, and Maricel Soriano and was sincethen hailed as one of Philippine Cinema's all-time classics.

Making up the cast thistime are Joel Torre, Lani Mercado, Jacob Rica and Yasmien Kurdi, who will bepaired with Starstruck batch mateDion Ignacio. The main characters are joined by equally good actors such asCharlie Davao, Pinky Amador, Gary Estrada, Luz Valdez, Shirley Fuentes, AndreaDel Rosario, and Arci Munoz.

For the first time in Sine Novela's history, the director ofthe movie, Maryo J. Delos Reyes, agreed to handle the modern version as well. WhileSine Novela had always adhered to remain loyal to the old materials theypresented in the past, the team behind the afternoon drama series made it a pointto enlist Direk Maryo since they wanted to make this one closer to the heart ofthe original story.

Direk Maryo had beenvery vocal before in expressing his unwillingness to participate in the remakeof his past movies. But according to him, it was different this time since hefelt the material is worthy and fit for television.

But other than thedrama and story dynamics presented, SaanDarating Ang Umaga aims to inspire viewers to be tough and resilient infacing personal problems and conflicts—the same way it did when the publicfirst saw it back in the early '80s.
