Angel Locsin is more than ready for her teleserye comeback after five years.
She is gearing up for ABS-CBN's upcoming series, The General's Daughter.
Through her Instagram post yesterday, January 4, Angel promoted the teaser of her new Kapamilya teleserye. Her caption summed up the past five years of her life when she did not have her own teleserye.
She wrote, "2015 challenged me.
"2016 broke me.
"2017 changed me.
"2018 opened my eyes.
"2019 I’M COMING BACK.
"After 5 years.... This is Angel Locsin, reporting for duty as Rhian Bonifacio."
Angel did not explain why she felt "challenged" in 2015 and why she felt "broken" in 2016.
However, she emphasized that she is "COMING BACK" this 2019 as Rhian Bonifacio on television.
The General's Daughter is Angel's first full-length teleserye after five years.
The last TV series that she top-billed was the 2014 hit series, The Legal Wife.
Her last teleserye apperance was in the 2017 fantasy series, La Luna Sangre, where she played a special role as Jacintha Magsaysay.
Angel is also set to celebrate her 12th year with ABS-CBN in 2019, after transferring from GMA-7 in late 2007.
The other TV shows that Angel top-billed in the Kapamilya network were: Lobo (2008), Only You (2009), and Imortal (2010-2011).
She was also part of the sitcom Todamax (2012-2014) and served as a judge in Pilipinas Got Talent seasons 5 and 6.
The General's Daughter is also Angel's first teleserye under ABS-CBN's Dreamscape Entertainment, as her previous teleseryes were produced by Star Creatives unit.
CELEBRITIES CONGRATULATE ANGEL
Meanwhile, celebrities and TV executives congratulated Angel for her teleserye comeback.
These include ABS-CBN stars Iza Calzado, Anne Curtis, Kisses Delavin, and Marco Gumabao.
Malaysian actress Carmen Soo, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Ali Forbes, former actress Bianca Lapus also shared their excitement for Angel's new project.
ABS-CBN directors Frasco Mortiz and Antoinette Jadaone, and movie & GMA-7 director Irene Villamor also congratulated Angel.



ABS-CBN has yet to announce the airing date of The General's Daughter.
Its cast members include Albert Martinez, Tirso Cruz III, Janice de Belen, Eula Valdes, Paulo Avelino, Arjo Atayde, JC de Vera, Ryza Cenon, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, and Maricel Soriano.
