Angel Locsin thanked Regine Velasquez-Alcasid for singing the theme song of her upcoming series, The General's Daughter.
This ABS-CBN show is Angel's comeback teleserye after five years.
Last January 6, Regine performed the theme song on ASAP Natin 'To.
Titled "Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal," the theme song is an original composition of Regine's husband, Ogie Alcasid.
Through her Instagram story last January 7, Angel wrote an appreciation post for Regine and Ogie after the ASAP Natin 'To performance.
She wrote, "Thank you ate Regine & kuya @ogiealcasid for allowing #TheGeneralsDaughter to be the first teleserye in ABS na ginawan nyo po ng theme song. Such an honor. May the Lord bless you more for being so generous & so supportive."
She also told Regine in her message, "Goosebumps everytime kinakanta mo ang 'Ikaw Lang Ang Aking Mahal' ang powerful ng words at ng pagkanta."
Angel then quipped that she was concerned by one limitation because of Regine's rendition of the song: "Isa lang inaalala ko, Hindi ko makakanta 'to sa mall show!"
"Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal" is Regine and Ogie's first official collaboration as Kapamilyas for a teleserye theme song.
Back in 2011, when Regine and Ogie were still with GMA-7, the married couple were able to collaborate for "Sino Ako?" This was used as the theme song of Kim Chiu's prime-time series My Binondo Girl.
At that time, Regine was pregnant with her first child, Nate. However, it was not allowed to be officially mentioned since both Regine and Ogie were under contract as Kapuso artists.
Regine was also able to sing the theme song for an Angel Locsin teleserye when they were still with GMA-7.
It was titled "Hindi Ka Mag-Iisa," which was used in the 2005 TV adaptation of Darna, with Angel playing the title role.
