Last January 12, the people behind ABS-CBN's noontime show, It’s Showtime, traveled to Hong Kong for a much-needed vacation.
“Bonding time” was how co-host Jugs Jugueta called their HK trip.
“Walang trabaho, walang iniisip na trabaho,” he told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at a recent presscon held at Resorts World Manila.
Jugs and his band Itchyworms will perform with Ely Buendia at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on February 9, 2018.
Jugs recalled agreeing with his co-workers, including Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Amy Perez, Vhong Navaro, Jhong Hilario, and Ryan Bang, to make their overseas vacation a yearly activity.
He added that he welcomes the possibility of them having a show in Hong Kong and in other places as they’ve done in Canada in September 2014 and in the U.S. in July 2018.
Jugs said It’s Showtime has many plans for the new year, but “secret pa.”
It’s no secret, though, that its hosts, particularly Vice Ganda, make off-the-cuff remarks that sometimes allude to their rival show, Eat Bulaga!
In the November 21, 2018, episode of It's Showtime, Vice Ganda even admitted that he supports the AlDub tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. The two GMA-7 stars are co-hosts of the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga!

Even Mariel Rodriguez cracked a joke that mentioned their rival show on GMA-7.

Jugs explained: “Showtime kasi is free-flowing. The best thing about Showtime is we’re real people, the reactions are real, everything is real.”
“Yun nga, minsan napapahamak tayo sa mga katotohanan na sinasabi namin.
“Pero at least hindi kami nagsisinungaling.
“Parang we’re just staying true to ourselves. Lahat kami, gano’n, go with the flow.”
The Kapamilya host believes there’s no issue when Vice Ganda makes potentially controversial comments during the show.
“We’re behind Vice all the way,” said Jugs.
