GMA-7 aired the pilot episode of Hiram Na Anak yesterday, February 25, before the airing of its noontime show Eat Bulaga.

Yasmien Kurdi and Dion Ignacio top-bill this daytime series, together with Paolo Contis and Lauren Young.

This is the second time that Yasmien and Dion are paired together in a series, the first being in Saan Darating ang Umaga. Both Yasmien and Dion are excited over their team-up after many years via Hiram na Anak.

In the series directed by Gil Tejada Jr., Yasmien and Dion breathe life into the characters Miren and Adrian, a happily married couple.

Miren is a simple, loving, and kind woman who works as a midwife. Adrian, on the other hand, is a faithful gentleman and her one great love. Unfortunately, Miren has difficulties conceiving a child and the couple decides to adopt: a decision that dramatically changes the course of their lives.

Also starring in the series are Paolo Contis as Benjo, a street-smart and arrogant former seafarer; and Lauren Young as Dessa, a strong-willed woman who never got over her anger towards her parents.

Playing a very special role in the series is Empress Schuck as Wena, a doting yet naïve department store saleslady who falls for Benjo.

Also in the cast are Rita Avila as Hilda, Adrian's elder sister who is self-centered, clingy, and possessive; Vaness del Moral as Alma, Miren's cheery older sister who loves and protects her very much; Sef Cadayona as Vince, Adrian's best friend since high school who also grows close to Miren; Maey Bautista as Engke, Miren and Adrian's trusted helper at home; Leanne Bautista as Duday, a smart, charming kid and the couple's adopted daughter who will change the lives of everyone around her.

Hiram na Anak showcases how a parent's love remains selfless in the face of adversity, and how far they will always be willing to go for the sake of their child.

The scene was cut to Wena talking with Benjo's aunt who revealed that Benjo has been cheating on her for a long time already. However, Wena was in denial because she believes Benjo couldn’t cheat on her because he knew that she is pregnant with their child.

To check if it’s true, Wena went to the address provided by Benjo’s aunt. Wena then sees Benjo and Dessa (Lauren young) hugging and being affectionate towards each other. Wena confronts Benjo and hits him before running away.

The scene was then cut to Adrian. As he was busy adjusting the volume of his stereo, he didn’t notice that a pregnant women, Wena, was about to cross the street.

Luckily, Adrian was able to step on the brakes. He then rushed Wena to the hospital.

Her delivery was successful. Wena gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

After Benjo accompanied Dessa to the bus terminal, he received a phone call from the hospital telling him that Wena gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Benjo visited Wena and expressed his willingness to fill up hospital forms. However, as soon as Wena saw Benjo beside her hospital bed, she became very angry and violent. According to the doctors, her reaction was normal because of post-partum trauma.

Meanwhile, viewers got to see the lives of Miren and Adrian. Miren (Yasmien Kurdi) was shown assisting a midwife in a delivery room.

The operation wasn’t successful because the baby died, which saddened Miren. The midwife consoled her by saying that this normally happens.

It was raining heavily when Adrian (Dion Ignacio) was on his way to the health clinic where Miren is working. While driving, he called Miren to tell her that he is nearby.

The scene was then cut to Adrian giving Miren a bouquet of flowers. Adrian suddenly knelt down and proposed to Miren.
