Jaya doesn't mind if she's not a regular of ASAP Natin 'To. She reasons out, "Na-a-appreciate ko yung Sundays ko. Single, e, nagka-kids, SOP pa rin. Noong naging Party P at saka Sunday All Stars siya, my kids are still young din, e. Ngayon, malalaki na, so gusto nila, 'Let's go! Let's go!'"

Jaya has been with ABS-CBN for almost three years, after her much talked-about, surprise transfer from GMA-7 in 2016.

However, her fans were surprised to learn that she is not part of the Kapamilya Network's Sunday musical-variety program, ASAP, especially when it was reformatted to ASAP Natin 'To in November 2018.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) after her February 27 blogcon, Jaya admitted, "Gusto ko na nga sumali, e. Ang sarap sumali sa ASAP, kasi ang saya, ang saya ng kantahan."

But this doesn't mean that she feels sad over her exclusion from the show.

She reasoned out, "Pero okay pa rin ako na wala sa ASAP kasi ang dami kong free hours pag Sunday."

Nowadays, Sundays are reserved for Jaya's time with her family.

In fact, she reiterated that she doesn't feel bad about the decision of management.

When PEP.ph asked her about that, she answered, "Ay waley! Ang shonda shonda na para umarte.

"Hindi ako nagdyu-joke, wala talaga, kasi na-a-appreciate ko yung Sundays ko.

"Single, e, nagka-kids, SOP pa rin. Noong naging Party P at saka Sunday All Stars siya, my kids are still young din, e.

"Ngayon, malalaki na, so gusto nila, 'Let’s go! Let’s go!'"

SOP, Party Pilipinas, and Sunday All Stars were Jaya's defunct musical variety shows when she was still with the Kapuso Network.

Besides, she is still busy with her judging stint in It's Showtime's "Tawag ng Tanghalan," which runs almost everyday.

"Di naman araw-araw pero natataon minsan Monday to Friday, tapos kapag season ng taping kasi magbabakasyon yung iba."

EXPECTING TO BE PART OF ASAP?

Jaya was the first among the SOP hosts to transfer to ABS-CBN.

Soon, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid followed.

People hoped that their reunion would happen on ASAP, especially since they—along with Lani Misalucha—comprised the popular "Back to Back to Back to Back" segment of SOP.

NOOD KA MUNA!

Was Jaya expecting that they would all be reunited in ASAP?

Jaya answered, "Me, no."

She then elaborated, "I was sure, at the beginning... kasi pwedeng mangyari pa, di ba?

"Pero at the beginning, I don't think they’ll do that kasi markado 'yan sa kabila.

"But if it does happen, medyo inevitable na siya to happen kasi parang yun na yung timing. Magkakaroon ng proper timing for that.

"Pero sa ngayon, hindi, kasi feeling ko naman, kung gugustuhin naman, pwede.

"E, si Lani, ang layo. Pero masaya."

Jaya actually wishes that the reunion will happen in her upcoming concert. Titled At Her Finest, it will be staged on April 3 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Nightingale refers to Lani Misalucha who holds the moniker Asia's Nightingale.
