"Moms" sign off after 3 years

(From left) Manilyn Reynes, Lani Mercado, and Sherilyn Reyes will no longer be hosting the celebrity/lifestyle talk show Moms since it has been cancelled by QTV 11 after airing for three years.

"I really look forward sa tapings namin because it's a time for me to bond with other people tulad ng mga guest namin at ang staff. Tapos ‘yung mga topics namin, marami akong natutunan. Matagal na akong isang ina pero marami pa rin akong hindi alam and I get them from our guests.

"I will really miss Moms because of the friendship na nabuo sa show na ito. Lalo na noong pumanaw ang aming director na si Khryss Adalia a few months back. He really loved the show and he really put his heart into it bago siya namaalam.

"I have a personal experience with Inay Khryss because I worked first worked with him when I was like 13 or 14 years old. That was in a acting workshop noong high school pa ako sa La Salle-Zobel. Noong mag-artista ako, he remembered me kaagad and we've been working for so many years until dumating ang show na Moms.

"With Moms going off the air, I think it's fitting that we all remember Inay Khryss because he was part of the success of the show."

Being a mother of two kids, nai-apply niya sa everyday family life niya ang mga nagiging topic nila sa show.

"It's true because lahat naman tayo, we want to learn more things about raising our family. And it was the show that opened me to many things na naa-apply ko sa pamilya ko ngayon.

"And I am proud to tell my kids and to my husband Chris [Tan] na ang mga tinuturo ko sa mga anak namin ay galing sa isang episode namin sa Moms. The show taught me to appreciate and embrace my family more. Na kahit ano ang mangyari, it's always family that is there to support and love you.

"As a host, marami akong nakuhang tips from our late director, Inay Khryss and from Direk Bibeth [Orteza] who now directed our show. Akala ko kasi noon marunong na akong mag-host based on the experiences I had in the past when I was hosting different shows noon sa ABS-CBN and before I was with Eat Bulaga. Pero marami pa akong natutunan and the show really made me more of a professional host now. At dadalhin ko iyon even after the show is gone."

Magandang comeback nga for Manilyn ang Moms dahil sa show niya nalaman na kaya pa rin pala niyang maging isang talk show host. Nagsimula raw siyang as a regular guest lamang hanggang sa isama na siya as one of the regular hosts of Moms.

"It was an offer na mahirap tanggihan," ngiti pa ni Mane. "Moms came noong wala akong masyadong ginagawa pa. I wanted to be busy again. Hindi ko alam that Moms would be the way na makabalik ulit ako sa pagiging active sa TV. Before Moms kasi I was doing a show sa ABS-CBN na inabot lang ng one season. Tapos wala na akong nagawa noon and then dumating itong Moms.

"Nagkasunud-sunod nga ang mga trabaho ko when I started hosting Moms. I was able to get back into acting on TV in Bakekang, Marimar and Mga Kuwento Ni Lola Basyang sa GMA-7. We had a great three years and I think tama na iyon para maalala kami ng marami."

Sherilyn will be doing corporate shows at feel niyang magkontrabida ulit sa isang soap drama after nang ginawa niya noon sa My Only Love. Si Manilyn naman ay magiging busy sa bakery business nila ng husband niyang si Aljon Jimenez and she has a movie for the Metro Manila Film Festival na One Night Only kung saan gumaganap siya bilang isang lesbian na talent manager.
