TV5 launches LIVE Caravan

"The TV5 LIVE Caravan is just one of the many big surprises that we will be bringing out this year. And this is just the first, so everyone should watch out for the others which are, of course, guaranteed to be just as much fun and grand as this one," says TV5 SVP for brand management Jasper Evangelista about their plans for 2009.

As a New Year treat for its televiewers, TV5 brings its programs closer to Pinoy televiewers through TV5 Live: Shake Mo TV Mo Caravan.

TV5 kicked off the caravan's year-long journey around the country last Saturday, January 3, at the Star City grounds, CCP Complex in Pasay City.

The project, according to TV5 SVP for brand management Jasper Evangelista, was developed because, "We'd like the viewers to experience TV5 live, as such the name of the caravan. People can come down here with minimal, halos walang entrance fee, if you're a student specially. We have different booths from different shows."

TV5 aims to have six destinations for 2009, with the first ones set in key cities in Metro Manila. Inside the caravan, one can see different booths that feature each program of TV5.

Aside from booths, games, and prizes, the caravan also featured celebrities who were seen on TV5 shows. Lucy Torres-Gomez, who is greatly identified with TV5 because of Shall We Dance, started the whole-day affair. Young stars Valeen Montenegro, IC Mendoza, and newcomer Kim Gantioqui of Lokomoko hosted parlor games for the kids who went to the caravan.

An actual audition was also held inside the caravan for the talent search program Talentadong Pinoy, which is hosted by Ryan Agoncillo. Then, in the evening, stars of TV5's youth oriented show Lipgloss showed up to give entertainment to the audience. These include Mikee Lee, Rodjun Cruz, Fred Payawan, Kevin Lapena, Mary Grace Perido, Maxine Eigenmann, Miki Hahn, and Saab Magalona.

Lucy's co-hosts in Shall We Dance, Jon Avila and Victor Basa, as well as Midnight DJ star Oyo Sotto joined the TV5 celebrities in giving away raffle prizes. Bands such as Imago and Sandwich also performed their hit songs for the benefit of the crowd gathered at the Star City grounds.

To completely welcome the new year with a bang, the newest TV station continues living up to its tagline "Shake Mo TV Mo" by offering viewers more exciting and alternative programs.

Mr. Evangelista promised, "This year, it's gonna be as jampacked program for the year. We're gonna raise the bar in our programming as well."
