Solar Entertainment and RPN-9 present an all-new sitcom entitled Kemis: Ke Misis Umaasa, which is inspired by the real-life situation of family men who take on a new role—from breadwinners to "housebands."
Bayani Agbayani, one of the funniest and bankable comedians today, plays the main character Gordon Bagatob, a freelance cartoonist. The reversal of roles happens after his wife Clarisse—played by renowned TV actress Cherie Gil—decides to try her luck abroad. Gordon is left to look after their daughters Honeydew and Pennylane, played by Pauleen Luna and Kiray, respectively.
Included in the cast of Kemis is comedian Gary Lim as Toniboy, a self-proclaimed business tycoon and Gordon's best friend. Toniboy is the CEO of a company that sells ice cream and ice candies. Completing the zany gang are James Blanco as Jordan Malicsi, son of a politician as well as an avid and doting suitor of Honeydew; and Sheree of Viva Hotbabes playing Armi, the promo-girl bombshell who is the object of fantasy of almost all the men in the barangay, and also assists Gordon in watching over his two daughters.
During the February 23 press conference held at Max's restaurant, Roces Avenue in Quezon City, the cast members were asked how they think they would fare against the top-rating programs of ABS-CBN and GMA-7. Bayani responded by saying, "Do'n sa dalawang network, kanya-kanya sila ng talents e.
Meanwhile, comedian Gary Lim has been leading a "kemis" life for some time now.
Kemis will premiere on March 12, Monday, 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on RPN-9.
