Kris Bernal still couldn't believe Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin's good fortune.
"Masaya siyempre!" said Kris with obvious excitement, "pero parang ‘di ko pa tanggap, e parang hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa ‘kin parang ‘di ko pa deserve."
Raking in an impressive daytime rating of 32.4 percent last April 30, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin has said to achieve the highest rating ever by a daytime drama program in recent memory.
It was a steady rise to the top for the television adaptation of the popular 1984 film topbilled by Sharon Cuneta and ex-husband Gabby Concepcion. Since its pilot episode on March 2, the program has posted more than 21 percent and an impressive average of 29 percent for three times.
As elated as she is with the show's performance, Kris confessed feeling scared knowing the rising expectations both from the public and management.
Looking back in hindsight, the 19-year-old Starstruck alumna described her current show as the culmination of a dream.
The thought of starring in a primetime series sounds exciting but Kris, at this point, would like to enjoy the success of her current show.
A possible primetime slot would also have to wait as Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin will reportedly extend its run until June 2009.
Sexy actress Ara Mina said that viewers should expect more twists and drama as the show progresses even more. Observers credit Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin's fast-paced flow complementing its plot.
"Ganun pa din pero mas magiging exciting pa lalo yong story and even yong mga characters," enthused Kris who is paired with Aljur Abrenica. Fans of the young loveteam have another reason to rejoice since Kris and Aljur are expected to topbill the Regal Entertainment film Nandito Ako. (Click HERE to read related article.)
