Manny Pacquiao and Marian Rivera deliver knock-out laughter in Show Me the Manny

Pinoyboxing hero Manny Pacquiao steps into a different ring starting tonight, August 23. He plays the lead star in GMA-7's new sitcom, Show Me Da Manny, where he is paired with the Kapuso Network's current darling,Marian Rivera.

Pinoy boxing icon MannyPacquiao will unleash a different punch starting tonight.

The reigning Pound-for-Pound King displays hisinnate comic chops—a side of him oftentimes eclipsed by his fierce ring-warrior image. For his first-ever sitcom titled Show Me Da Manny, the People's Champ will be paired with GMA-7'sPrimetime Queen Marian Rivera.

It tells thestory of Manny Santos (Manny Pacquiao), an amateur boxing champion who inheritsa boxing gym (Gym Santos) founded by his parents. Business was doing greatuntil the emergence of a new and more sophisticated competitor called Gym ParedesFitness Center, owned by neighbor Ella Paredes (Marian Rivera). Incidentally,Ella is the only person in the community willing to confront the neighborhood'sfeared boxing champ.

Faced with thepossibility of losing his clients, Manny sets out to keep his businessfrom being knocked out by the modern gym. But other than steering businessoperations, Manny soon discovers that his heart is starting to becaptivated by the feisty Ella. What follows is a string of comic and funnysituations all given to life not just by Manny and Ella but by the entireneighborhood as well.

Completing the castare Benjie Paras, John Lapus, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paolo Contis, Lovie Poe,Kevin Santos, Tuesday Vargas, Mike "Pekto" Nacua, Lito Camo, AJ Dee, KarlAcosta and 1996 Olympics boxing silver medalist Onyok Velasco.

As an added treat,Manny's equally famous mother, Mommy Dionesia "Pacmom" Pacquiao will add morelaughs to the already hilarious program. Mommy Dionesia was given a specialrole to complement even more the funny cast.

In a recent interviewwith PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), mainstay John Lapus guaranteednon-stop laughter, bolstered by the fact that the show's cast members are allseasoned comedians honed by variety of sitcoms done in the past.

"Si Manny nakakatawanaman talaga siya," John proudly mentioned. "Meron siyang natural timing whenit comes to comedy and I think people knew that even before. Ang maganda langdito sa Show Me Da Manny, mas mayvenue siya and chance to show off 'yong kanyang pagiging komedyante."
