Magpi-premiere na ang Lupin, his next show, replacing Bakekang. This time, Richard is eyeing a more mature crowd. A thief by profession, Lupin is based on both the original Maurice LeBlanc novel sa France and the Japanese anime about a thief on the run always being chased by a French inspector, now portrayed by Janno Gibbs.
Lupin will be in the last timeslot of the primetime block of GMA-7 after Asian Treasures nina Robin Padilla and Angel Locsin and Super Twins nina Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado, and Nadine Samonte. Dahil sa nature of the story and the bikini-clad girls, tanggap ni Richard na ihuli ang kaniyang soap and he takes this as a challenge.
Sagot ni Richard during the press launch of Lupin, baka it's time daw para mag-iba naman siya ng market other than the kids, although he'd be happy if his young fans will still follow his exploits as Lupin. Kahit naman daw kasi magnanakaw ang character niya, may cause and reason ito, and more of a Robin Hood naman daw siya.
Richard says he always likes to try out new things and playing Lupin is a new challenge for him and definitely a new market in terms of audience, so more of excited siya than kinakabahan.
