"Shall We Dance" now on its 5th season on ABC-5

If Philippine Idol is the search for the next local singing sensation, then Shall We Dance: It's Your Time To Shine is the search for the next Pinoy dancing superstar.

This season, Shall We Dance (SWD) will begin another challenge, but this time not with the celebrities, as the show aims to find the best undiscovered dancing talent in the Philippines.

So, move over celebrities, it's time ordinary people with extraordinary dancing skills rule the dance floor of Shall We Dance.

In classic American Idol style, SWD kicked off its 5th season last March 25 by showing the highlights of the one-day audition held last February at Funnside Entertainment Bar. Hundreds came but only a few were chosen. Who will shine in Shall We Dance this season? There's only one way to find out.

Those contestants who passed the audition will then be paired with professional dance partner and together they will endure a grueling 13-week competition in front of a live audience and millions of televiewers. And just like in the previous seasons, a panel of experts Regine Tolentino, Audie Gemora, and Edna Ledesma will judge each of the pairs every week with one couple being eliminated at the end of the day. Though the mechanics this season is basically the same with the celebrity dance challenge, expect to see more twists and turns this time.

The new season of Shall We Dance, hosted by dance goddess Lucy Torres-Gomez, will reveal more drama on the dance floor and a lot of breathtaking routines you can only witness in this reality dance show in the country.
