Reunions moves to an earlier timeslot every Sunday

Tropical storm Ondoy left billions worth of properties destroyed and thousands of lives ruined when it struck the country, Metro Manila and Region IV-A in particular, last weekend. Not only is the death toll rising to hundreds, there is also a growing number of people reported as missing.

Different groups and organizations from both the public and private sectors continue to extend help to those who were affected by the calamity through various means. Q Channel 11's Reunions is one of them. Viewers will get to watch this show on a much earlier timeslot of 8:15 pmstarting this Sunday, October 4.

The staff of the Public Affairs show rushed to various relief centers to help victims by allowing them to make their appeals and call for help through Q-11's and GMA-7's news programs.

Meanwhile, the October 4 episode of Reunions will feature a story of a man reunited with his family after braving the terrifying floods last Saturday.

At about 7 in the morning, flood waters in the town of Rodriguez in Rizal started to rise up to very high levels. 59-year old Mamerto Baguinang instructed his family and relatives to leave their homes and promised that he would immediately follow them.

But the flood waters soon reached the roof of Mang Mamerto's house and in just a matter of seconds, he was carried away by the flood's strong current—many kilometers—to the town of Cainta. Garbage collector Ricky Huwit and his brother-in-law Aquis came to Mang Mamerto's rescue after seeing him hanging on to a banana tree, surrounded by garbage. Mang Mamerto was apparently holding on for his life from 9 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon.

Reunions found Mang Mamerto in the area's barangay outpost wounded, weak, and with very high fever. As soon as he gave his home address to Reunions, the team didn't waste any time and decided to go into the town of Rodriguez to locate Mang Mamerto's family. But they soon found out that not one house was left standing in the said address.

Will Mang Mamerto be reunited with his family? Find out the rest of this compelling story this Sunday. Join award-winning broadcast journalist Jessica Soho as she brings more inspiring stories of Reunions on its new, family-friendly time slot—Sundays at 8:15 pm on Q Channel 11.
