In front of the camera, we see celebrities living a glamorous life. But on her new show Simply KC, actress-TV host KC Concepcion explores the private side of her showbiz guests to show how they live when they’re not facing the camera.
"Dito po sa show na ito, halos po ’yong side nila na hindi showbiz ang ipapakita nila," said KC about her new morning talk show during its press conference last Friday, May 21, at 9501 Restaurant, ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.
On its pilot week, which started airing earlier today, May 24, KC will have John Lloyd Cruz, brothers Luis Manzano and Ryan Christian Recto, Jericho Rosales, Mariel Rodriguez, and Pokwang as her guests.
KC also talked about the experiences she went through by joining her showbiz guests in their non-showbiz activities.
Unlike other talk shows, the 25-year-old singer-actress also noted that her show would be lighter and closer to her guests.
"Siguro po dahil sobrang intimate ng set, which is also a first in the morning shows. Ganun ka intimate talaga, they’re all around you, makikita mo within reach sila. Siguro because of that din, kaming lahat, we feel more at home. Pero hindi namin po sinusundot or sinasadya or anything," said KC.
Simply KC will also use different types of media to talk about an issue that will be tackled during the show.
"It’s a hodge-podge of new media and it’s always with a focus," related KC. "Klaro po ang tema niya from the beginning but we add the blog, magkakaroon din ng website link for the show. In that way, I think of it as more real and personal. It incorporates a lot of me because I’m learning a lot of stories through the guests. And they learn from my first time experience of doing it with them."
Watch KC and her celebrity guests reveal parts of their lives that were previously unseen on television. Simply KC airs daily at 9:45 a.m. on ABS-CBN.
