GMA-7’s newest primetime offering Bantatay performed well in the ratings game, according to the most recent People/Individual ratings report by AGB Nielsen. The program garnered a 12.5 percent people rating among Mega Manila viewers, enough to beat its rival program, Kokey@Ako, (11.1 percent), which incidentally premiered on the same day on ABS-CBN.

Everyone, from the cast to the production staff, is ecstatic to hear about the good news and is all the more inspired to do their assigned roles in the show. Viewers can look forward to more uplifting scenes as Bantatay continues airing on the Kapuso Network.

One of the highlights of this week is the sudden disapperance of Marcella (Gelli de Belen), which is a plan arranged by villains Daisy (Camille Prats) and Vangie (Eva Darren). Meanwhile, Emily (Krystal Reyes), Junix (Renz Valerio) and Farrah (Sweet Ramos) launch a search for their missing mother. Another crucial event in the plot is the untimely death of Bernard (Raymart Santiago) and finally, his dramatic crossover to the afterlife and back to the living world thru his dependable and loyal pet, Bantay.

Directed by Don Michael Perez and written by Des Severino, Bantatay also stars Jennica Garcia, Carl Guevara, Gary Estrada, Al Tantay, Marissa Delgado, Elmo Magalona, Sheena Halili, Jessie Corcuera, Kier Legaspi, Jim Pebangco, Prince Steffan, Maybeline Dela Cruz, and Isabel Frial. Not to be outshined, of course, is Charlie, the two-year old Labrador who plays the important role of Bantay.

The heartwarming tale of GMA-7’s newest canine hero Bantatay airs weeknights before 24 Oras on GMA Telebabad.
