Showtime hosts visit viewers in the United States

The hosts of Showtime are (from left) Kuya Kim Atienza, Teddy of Rocksteddy, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Jugs of Itchyworms and resident judge Vice Ganda. Kuya Kim was unable to join the U.S. visit but he made his presence felt through Skype.

Kim Atienza surprised both his fans and his co-hosts last September 18 when he returned to the country’s favorite talent variety show Showtime, after one and a half month of rest following a mild stroke last August.

Although unable to dance and shout just like before, Kuya Kim still gives his best to keep up with the show’s high energy.

"I’m not one hundred percent well, yet. But I’m doing my best because I owe it to my public, because I love the Madlang Pipol. Para sa kanila," said Kuya Kim.

Hosts Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro also expressed happiness now that their Showtime family is complete.

"Para ’yang jigsaw puzzle, eh. Hindi mo mafi-feel or hindi mo makikita ’yung talagang beauty ng show ’pag hindi kumpleto. And Kuya Kim is our missing piece for the longest time. So we’re happy to have him back," said Anne.

Vhong added Kuya Kim’s comeback was an answered prayer for them. "Sobrang pinagdadasal namin ’yung mabilis na recovery ni Kuya Kim, at nangyari na, kaya sobrang saya namin," he said.

The Showtime hosts came from a successful week-long U.S. trip as part of the TFC event "One Kapamilya Go!" Resident judge Vice Ganda was all praises for the thousands of Fil-Am "Madlang Pipol" as well as the contestants who flocked to California’s Great America theme park for the show.

"Hindi mo naman matatawaran kahit saan ka magpunta sa mundo. Pagdating sa mga Filipino ’yung talents nila talagang palaban. Wala rin itulak kabigin sa mga talents na nadito sa Pilipinas," said Vice Ganda.

Even though Kuya Kim wasn’t able to come, he was still able to say hi to the audience through modern technology. "We’re lucky enough kasi kahit paano may Skype. Kahit konti lang, na-feel pa rin ’yung presence n’ya [Kuya Kim]," said Anne.

The program scored another victory recently when the Court of Appeals junked the motion of reconsideration filed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). The MTRCB sought for the reversal of the court resolution nullifying the suspension order it issued against the show. (CLICK HERE to read related article)
