Oprah will say goodbye after 25 years on air; final season starts Monday on 2nd Avenue channel


Oprah Winfrey will give up her long-running talk show so she can concentrate on opening her very own channel called OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.

Premiering on April 4, Monday at 6 PM, make The Oprah Winfrey Show Season 25 your after-work escape every Monday to Friday on 2nd Avenue.


"One of the most influential women in the world, when Oprah talk’s, millions listen. Having built a rapport with her viewers and the guests she cozies up to on her couch, she can discuss topics as wide as personal tragedy to health and entertainment.


"Kicking off this Farewell Season is celebrity guest John Travolta who has appeared on the show 11 times. A good friend of Oprah, John surprises 300 of her biggest fans with the news that they will be flying with Oprah to Australia to see the land down under. A trip that audiences can see later on in the season which features U2’s Bono and actor Hugh Jackman sitting down with The Queen of Talk at the famed Sydney Opera House.


"Other guests dropping by this season are Whoopi Goldberg, Nicole Kidman, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Hudson and Diana Ross. Not to be missed Oprah exclusives are interviews with Michael Jackson’s mother and children, former US President George Bush and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.
