"Set to deliver the hottest and biggest news even before midday followed right after by on-the-spot public service assistance to viewers, award-winning noontime newscast Balitanghali and public service program On Call will now air on back-to-back timeslots beginning Monday, May 23, on GMA News TV—the first and only news and public affairs channel on Very High Frequency (VHF) Free TV.

"Balitanghali brings the latest scoop-of-the-day and updates on the morning headlines beginning 11:30 am while On Call’s public service assistance starts at 1 pm.

"Serving the breaking news on Balitanghali during weekdays are seasoned journalists Pia Arcanghel and Raffy Tima while senior correspondents Mariz Umali and Jun Veneracion banner Balitanghali Weekend. Also joining them is Grace Lee as the newscast’s showbiz segment host.

"Since its launch in November 2005, Balitanghali has successfully created a newscast viewing habit during midday amidst competition from variety programs shown on other TV stations.

On Call, in turn, moves to an earlier airing time, 1 pm, from its previous 4 pm timeslot. Anchored by well-respected journalists Connie Sison and Ivan Mayrina, together with segment host Valerie Tan, On Call focuses on providing immediate assistance to Filipinos in need.

"The show airs grievances and helps in solving them through agencies or persons in authority. On Call also helps in addressing women’s and children’s concerns, report irregularities caught on cam as well as reunite people who lost contact of each other.

"On Call also provides a public service caravan, which offers free services to government offices like National Statistics Office (NSO), Philhealth, and the likes. Aside from this, the program will soon hold livelihood seminars and other public service activities that aim to help more Filipinos.

"Be filled with up-to-the-minute news and practical information with Balitanghali (11:30 am to 1pm) back-to-back with On Call’s (1pm to 2pm) serbisyong totoo beginning Monday, May 23, on GMA News TV.
