PRESS STATEMENT FROM GMA-7:
"Expect this week’s episodes of Captain Barbell to be more dramatic as Teng (Richard Gutierrez) and his pseudo-adopted daughter Lelay (Jillian Ward) are forced to lead separate lives.
"In wanting to give Lelay a better future, Teng has finally agreed to give her up for adoption. But little did he know that Rose (Jennylyn Mercado), the woman who adopted Lelay, will only maltreat the poor child.
"Lelay, using her Tiya Lita’s (Ces Quesada) phone, calls her teacher Althea (Lovi Poe) to ask for help. After learning about the unfortunate situation from Althea, Teng immediately rushes to Rose’s house in time to witness her hurting Lelay.
"Teng hurriedly takes Lelay away from Rose and Dante (Dino Guevarra) leaving the couple infuriated. Further complications arise after the couple turns things around on Teng and accuses him of kidnapping Lelay. With Teng facing imprisonment, will he use his superpowers to manipulate the circumstances? Or will he leave it all up to the hands of law?
"Meanwhile, in the absence of Captain Barbell, Nero (Christopher de Leon) finds a suitable time to attack the Liga ng Kalayaan. Nero successfully tracks down the nuclear reactor Thorium, which currently protects the good superheroes from the supervillains.
"Will Captain Barbell/Teng successfully solve his problems concerning Lelay, not to mention the billowing threats to the League of superheroes?
"All these and more as the drama and action reach an exciting new level this week on Captain Barbell after 24 Oras on GMA Telebabad."
