Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes both learned a lot as they topbilled ABS-CBN’s remake of Mara Clara, which has been airing since October 25, 2010. Now that the show is slated to end this Friday, June 3, fans of the show have been avidly following the latest developments.
In fact, Julia Montes (who reprises Gladys Reyes’s role of Clara in the TV series) became a trending topic in Twitter Philippines last May 31. It reached seventh place in the Top 10 list.
In last night’s episode, Clara is arrested by the police for being an accomplice to Gary (Jhong Hilario). Even though the young girl begs her adoptive mother Alvira (Dimples Romana) and adoptive father Amante del Valle (Bobby Andrews) to help her, she is still taken away. Even her biological mother (played by Mylene Dizon) is unable to do anything. Clara cried incessantly while saying "Ayokong makulong."
When members of the press were able to interview the lead stars recently during their farewell press con for the show, Kathryn was asked for her opinion why she thinks their show became a success among viewers.
Naghuhugutan kami sa bawat isa at nagtutulungan sa bawat eksena," says the young actress who reprised Judy Ann Santos’s role as Mara.
How does Kathryn feel about being tagged as the next Judy Ann Santos?
Julia and Kathryn also revealed the realizations that they had while doing this show.
Kathryn then revealed that they won’t exactly stick to the same ending as the first version of Mara Clara.
The public can watch the final episode of Mara Clara through LED screens that will be set up on June 3 at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila.
Mara Clara airs after Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin on ABS-CBN.
