GMA News and Public Affairs bags one silver and four bronze awards; ABS-CBN International gets six bronze awards in 32nd Telly Awards


In the 32nd Telly Awards, GMA News and Public Affairs received five citations while ABS-CBN International was honored with six bronze awards. Out of 11,000 entries submitted worldwide for the 32nd edition of the Telly Awards, 11 entries from the Philippines were cited this year.


GMA News and Public Affairs had five citations: one silver and four bronze awards. On the other hand, ABS-CBN International was honored with six bronze awards.

GMA News and Public Affairs bagged the silver award for Planet Philippines in the Nature/Wildlife category. Richard Gutierrez hosts this documentary show.

The Kapuso network’s primetime newscast 24 Oras—anchored by Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco—received the bronze award in the News or News Feature category for its news coverage of Super Typhoon Juan.

Saksi—anchored by Arnold Clavio and Vicky Morales—received a bronze award in the same category for the controversial Vizconde Massacre case.

Moreover, Reporter’s Notebook’s "Huling Hantungan" episode and Art Angel’s special episode about the National Children’s Book Day celebration both received bronze awards.

On the other hand, ABS-CBN International bagged a bronze award for TFC’s live event called Global P-Noy: Town Hall held in Redwood Shores, California in September 2010.


The other entries of TFC that also received bronze awards are Adobo Nation: Sari-Sari Etcetera: Filipina Winemakers’ information, Bayaning Pilipino: Little Manila Foundation documentary, and Streets of My Lolo.

According to its official website, the Telly Awards aim to "honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs."
