Late actor AJ Perez nominated in Golden Screen Awards for Television


AJ Perez is nominated in the Golden Screen Awards for his portrayal of an orphan in the "Tsinelas" episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya.


AJ Perez’s last TV appearance has earned for him an acting nomination in the Golden Screen Awards.


It will be recalled that the Star Magic talent was killed in a vehicular accident in Tarlac last April 17.

ABS-CBN aired the Maalaala Mo Kaya episode starring AJ on April 27, just a few days after his death.


AJ and his co-star, Bugoy Cariño, portrayed two homeless orphans who decided to go to their relatives by walking all the way to Samar. The brothers had no money, no food and had to walk more than 500 kilometers.

Gerry Perez, the father of AJ, gave this message to PEP contributor Allan Sancon regarding this nomination:


"We’re so proud of AJ for being nominated in the Golden Screen Awards for Outstanding Performance of an Actor in MMK "Tsinelas." This is his dream, to be recognized as a good actor. This is another God’s blessing to AJ. We would like to thank also Golden Screen TV Awards, ENPRESS Society for recognizing AJ’s acting performance."

The awards night of the Golden Screen TV Awards will take place on November 29 at the Teatrino at the Promenade, Greenhills in San Juan.
