Another batch of housemates will be introduced in the fourth season ABS-CBN’s reality show, Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited, tonight, November 5.
Fifteen more housemates will join the first 14 housemates who were introduced during its opening last Saturday, October 29.
And before they are revealed, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other invited media were able three of them in a pocket press conference held this afternoon at Fab Bar and Restaurant, Holiday Inn, in Ortigas, Pasig City.
According to the staff of the popular reality TV series, these housemates have no idea that the show has already began and a set of housemates were already revealed. All they know is that they will be the first batch of contestants who will enter the famous Bahay ni Kuya.
First, we interviewed Joya Genzola, who was dubbed as "Bini-brainy ng Negros Occidental."
This 24-year-old licensed nurse and said she was persuaded by her friends to join the show.
Joya related, "Kasi sabi nila, ’’Day, we think you have these qualities para maging housemate. Kasi, hindi kasi ’yong typical na nerdy, na bookish, na tipong matalino. Ikaw ’yong tipong funny but you still excel.’
"Sabi nila, ’We think that parang swak ko doon.’
"Siguro nga nakita nila ’yon during the audition process kaya parang nakapasok ako."
The psychiatric nursing lecturer joked that she joined PBB to become a celebrity.
Seriously though, she said, "At the end of the day, I think my goal here is parang to inspire the young people. Parang, ’Hey, you can achieve something if you just put your mind and heart in that.’"
The second housemate we met was the "Loving Nanayuki ng Bacolod" named Erica Arlante.
This 31-year-old mother of three children was not hesitant as she shared her past experiences.
When she was younger, she described her life as something "crazy." Erica admitted that she had been delinquent—being addicted to alcohol and drugs, and obsessed with relationships with men.
Erica reached the turning point after giving birth to her second child. "binago ko ang buhay ko dahil sa mga anak ko, at binabago pa," she further said.
Although she’s now based in Japan, where she auditioned for PBB, Erica did not hesitate to join the contest.
Lastly, we were introduced to Diane Aquino, a 28-year-old creative head of a marketing agency.
Diane was scouted by an ABS-CBN employee when she was vacationing in Boracay.
And unlike other housemates, this lady initially believed that she would be voted out from the game early because, "wala akong kwentong kakaiba. Sobrang normal lang ako."
But after being included as an official housemate, Diane hoped that people would also find her interesting.
She also believed that, "Joining a reality show is not only limited to the kind of story that you have."
And what can Diane offer in their journey inside Bahay ni Kuya?
She replied, "I think I can impart some of my knowledge."
