Patrick Garcia serves as a hurado on Showtime

When Patrick Garcia was introduced on the November 28 episode of Showtime, he was described as a "homegrown talent" who is being welcomed into ABS-CBN.

Patrick Garcia was given a warm welcome on ABS-CBN’s talent search, Showtime, yesterday, November 28.

The actor has been seen mostly in GMA-7 programs since he became part of Captain Barbell in 2006. Patrick was last seen in the Kapuso Network’s fantasy-drama series Iglot.

As a young boy, Patrick honed his talents performing in front of the camera for ABS-CBN’s kiddie comedy show Ang TV and the youth-oriented series Gimik.

When Patrick was introduced on Showtime yesterday, Anne Curtis described the actor: "[Isa siyang] homegrown talent na iwe-welcome natin sa Kapamilya Network. Bata pa lang siya, crush na siya ng maraming girls, kahit ako. Nung teenager ako, crush na crush ko talaga ito. The very handsome, Patrick Garcia!"

Aside from Patrick, the other hurados (judges) on the show include Denise Laurel, Carlos Agassi, cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao, as well as Sexbomb girls Anna and Jopay.

All of the judges are encouraged to show off their talents or give a "sample." When it was Patrick’s turn, he asked: "Pwede bang tula? Medyo seryoso ito.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the arrival speech of Benigno Aquino."

He then proceeded to recite excerpts from the speech that Ninoy Aquino was supposed to deliver on August 21, 1983. However, the politician was unable to give the speech since he was assassinated at the airport.

"According to Gandhi, the willing sacrifice of the innocent is the most powerful answer to insolent tyranny that has yet been conceived by God and man.

"Yes, the Filipino is patient, but there is a limit to his patience. Must we wait until that patience snaps?

"On one of the long corridors of Harvard University are carved in granite the words of Archibald Macleish: ’How shall freedom
be defended? By arms when it is attacked by arms; by truth when it is attacked by lies..."

At this point, the madlang people chanted and disrupted his speech, prompting Patrick to halt and show some dancing moves.

Anne chided the actor and said, "Rinig namin Patrick magaling kang kumanta."

Patrick then did not hesitate to sing an excerpt from "I’ll Always Love You."

"Standing by my window / Listening for your call / Seems I really missed you after all."
