Wendy Valdez asks public to give "Margarita" a chance

"Para sa akin, ‘eto ang time ko...It just so happens na ngayon siya dumating," says Wendy Valdez about landing the lead role in Margarita.

Wendy Valdez continues to be hounded by controversies even after leaving Big Brother’s house. The Third Big Placer of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 topbills ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye Margarita, which is being criticized as containing mature content that is unsuitable for its 6 p.m. timeslot.

Despite these criticisms, ABS-CBN has decided to retain the early broadcast of Margarita, which is aired right before TV Patrol.

She asks the public to be open-minded about her first acting project. "Ang sexiness dito, kumbaga sa food, is just an appetizer, it’s not the full meal.

Talk turns to the advertising potential of the show. Vice-president of ABS-CBN’s corporate communications Bong Osorio defends the show by saying, "Ang Margarita ay hindi kuwento ng isang burlesk dancer, per se. This is a story of a young girl that became a woman, struggling to fight off the trials and tribulations na sinapit niya sa buhay."

The star of the show is asked if advertisers are unwilling to place ads in Margarita because of her negative image.

Kung talagang strictly for kids, even us we would discourage them from being aired in that portion.

"Nililinaw nga sa advertisers is the fact that this is not a sexy [show]. Sa trailer talaga medyo, alam niyo naman di ba, kailangan magkaroon ng hook and I think that’s the job of the first trailer is to attract attention but essentially, the story is the success story of a woman," he emphasizes.

It was announced in an earlier press conference for Margarita that PBB Season 2 Grand Winner Beatriz Saw has no intentions of going full blast in showbiz.

Wendy is asked if Bea and fellow PBB housemate Gee-Ann Abrahan are jealous of her good fortune.

But it just so happens na ngayon siya dumating, e.
