The list of DJ Mo Twister’s enemies is getting longer. His latest enemy is one of the Philippines’ most well-known TV personalities –- no less than “Master Showman” German Moreno.
In a recent edition of DJ Mo’s radio program Good Times on dwTM Magic 89.9, Troy Montero guested in the show's "Celebrity Challenge" segment. In the latter's “Forbidden Questions” portion, DJ Mo asked Troy who he thought were the gays in show business.
Troy, who was caught off-guard, reluctantly mentioned the name of Kuya Germs. “I think Kuya Germs,” the Fil-American actor said.
Kuya Germs, a veteran TV host, normally does not entertain attacks against him. But this time, he expressed his disgust --not with Troy, but with DJ Mo.
In an interview with GMA-7's showbiz talk show S-Files on October 22, Kuya Germs fired back.
“Akala ko tumahimik na siya sa Amerika nang magkita kami do’n," Kuya Germs said, referring to a visit to the United States when he saw DJ Mo. "Pero all of a sudden, marami akong naririnig about him [DJ Mo].”
Kuya Germs, who hosts GMA-7’s late-night musical variety show Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman, advised DJ Mo not to meddle with other people’s lives.
“Huwag kang mag-create ng kaaway mo dahil hindi maganda ‘yan. At walang nakikialam sa buhay mo kaya huwag mo ring pakialaman ang buhay ng ibang tao,” he said.
He added, “Lahat tayo merong pagkakamali sa buhay, so walang malinis sa atin. Walang masasabi nating perpekto.”
Then the mild-mannered host-comedian reminded DJ Mo that when the young man got Bunny Paras pregnant, he did not hear a bad word from Kuya Germs. Bunny, the younger sister of Sharmaine Arnaiz, was one of Kuya Germs’ talents in the defunct GMA-7 youth variety show That’s Entertainment.
“Everybody knows, lalo na ako,” said Kuya Germs, “kung anong inagrabyado niyang babae [Bunny] na once upon a time ay naging anak ko sa That’s Entertainment. Sana huwag mong [DJ Mo] kalimutan na kahit papaano hindi ko kailanman pinakialaman ang buhay mo. Kung gusto mong magpakakontrobersiyal, e it’s too late for you."
As a parting shot, Kuya Germs had this to say about DJ Mo: “You better watch out. Wala ka pa sa kalingkingan ng mga taong hindi mo binibigyan ng respeto.”
Aside from Kuya Germs, other celebrities who have been “victims” of DJ Mo’s radio show include singer Erik Santos and young TV host Raymond Gutierrez.
Following this, a number of big names in showbiz, including Lolit Solis and Rufa Mae Quinto, have lambasted DJ Mo.
DJ Mo has since apologized to Raymond Gutierrez. However, at press time, he had not been heard to apologize to any of the others.
DJ Mo, Mohan Gumatay in real life, co-hosts Good Times with DJs Mojo Jojo and Andrea Manzano.
