Janice de Belen: 'You always remember where the scar came from'

John-Vanessa break-up has 'no importance' to the TV host-actress

The 11th anniversary special of Startalk last November 11 served as a venue for TV host-actress Janice de Belen to air her side about the recent split-up of her ex-husband John Estrada and Vanessa del Bianco—the woman John was having affair with when the actor was still married to Janice.

After being left behind, does Janice feel vindicated about the development in John’s life?

“I think everyone wanted me to say that,” said Janice. “Hindi e. I am no longer part of the issue. I will never be a part of the issue anymore. I don’t think of it that way. Wala din naman siyang magiging importance sa akin.”

Janice also closed her doors on John Estrada who is single again.

“Matagal na kaming annulled [ni John],” she stressed. “You have to leave the bad experience. Stop the blaming. I accept that partly, I am probably to blame also [of the annulment]. Hindi ko nagawa lahat ng gusto niya. I’ve forgiven them [John and Vanessa] for what happened.”

She added: “Leave it behind. There’s no guarantee that it would be better. So many words have been said, hindi mo na mababawi e. Scars have healed but you always remember where the scar came from.”

Janice and John have four children.

The co-host of GMA-7 morning talk show Sis also admitted that she is very much involved with her non-showbiz boyfriend. However, she denied rumors that they already got married—although she is open to the possibility of another marriage someday. She said: “If I get married, I want it to be right. Right time, right person, right reasons. We’ve been together for quite a while. He knew that I have five kids.”

Janice also celebrated her 38th birthday last November 9. She can only wish the best for her kids. “I’ve never really wished anything na pangsarili lang talaga. My children are always healthy, happy. Peace of mind sa akin,” she said.
