Robin's Australian Nest

When Robin went to Australia sometime in November of 2004, he vowed to make it up to Liezel and his kids. And it's a promise he kept. For quite some time, Robin has been away from the limelight.

Cinematographer Diboy Trofeo's friendship with Robin Padilla started way back when the actor was just starting out in show business.

They lost contact with each other about six or seven years ago, but then got together again when Robin did Basta't Kasama Kita, the teleserye that paired him with Judy Ann Santos.

"Nanghiram sila sa akin ng mga props na baril saka 'yong isang Hummer ko—'yong sasakyan na pang-military?" Diboy relates. "Since then, naging close na talaga kami."

Just how close can be gleaned from the fact that, when Diboy went to Australia, he spent three whole months— from June to August—with Robin Padilla and his family in Queensland, the Gold Coast. "I stayed in their house the whole time," says Diboy.

Ironically, the cinematographer and the actor have yet to work together on a film or television project. "May mga plano kasi si Robin, ang ganda ng vision niya for the movies, e. So, hopefully, mag-push-through. In the meantime, noong nasa Australia kami, we just had a lot of fun. And ako, since I love photography, I took all their photos."

And we're happy to have received a few of those precious photos to share with Robin Padilla fans.

Feast your eyes folks!
