Just like the noche buena, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is already a tradition among Filipinos during Christmas time. And the annual filmfest would never be complete without at least one entry from Regal Entertainment.
This year, the film outfit is offering not one, but four movies of different genres which they proudly call the "Fantastic Four"—Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di, Zsa Zsa Zaturnah Ze Moveeh, Super Noypi, and Shake Rattle & Roll 8.
The word "fantastic" also befits the Christmas party Regal matriarch Lily Monteverde threw last December 18 at the Imperial Palace Suites in Quezon City for the entertainment press. Everyone was treated to sumptuous cuisines and drinks while gift certificates and cash prizes were raffled off.
There were also fun games that some of the stars of the four Regal MMFF entries participated in. To say the least, it's a victory party of sort as most of the entertainment press present that evening agree that all four of Regal's movies will make a killing at the box-office.
In a press statement, Mother Lily said, "I've spent more than two hundred million pesos for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival but everyone here made it look like I spent six million pesos. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
"Christmas and the MMFF are all about families, especially the children, that is why we are giving them enough fantasy, action, adventure, romance and comedy to last them till next year. Every Filipino family deserves only the best, and Regal Films is totally committed to giving it to them."
Celebrities present that evening were Roxanne Guinoo, Janus del Prado, Michelle Madrigal, Dino Imperial, IC Mendoza, Alwyn Uytingco, Sergio Garcia, Joseph Bitangcol, Sandara Park, Ethel Booba, Ehra Madrigal, Iza Calzado, Polo Ravales, Alfred Vargas, and Joel Lamangan (director of Mano Po 5 and Zsa Zsa Zaturnah).
The Metro Manila Film Festival kicks off on December 25.
