The controversy, which was sparked by Geneva Cruz's claim that she and Keempee de Leon had a one-night stand, has simmered down. And Keempee is just glad that people are no longer paying heed into it.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Keempee during the premiere night of Shake, Rattle & Roll 8 last Tuesday, December 19, at SM Megamall.
"I'm good, still standing. Hindi mo naman kailangang magpadala [sa intriga]. I'll let it pass. It won't affect me. Mahirap yung ganun. Nasa trabaho ka, pabayaan mo na lang," said Keempee when asked how is he doing after the controversy.
"Kumbaga it's part of show business," he continued. "Siyempre, yung iba gagawa lang ng ingay. Gagawa lang ng kung ano-ano. Minsan ine-exaggerate lang nila yung istorya. Kumbaga, kanya-kanyang style na 'yan kung papaano nila paiikutin yung istorya.
The controversy stemmed from Geneva's guesting in DJ Mo Twister's radio show Good Times. Geneva said that she had a one-night stand with Keempee, which the actor vehemently denied.
When asked to give his opinion about the ongoing monitoring of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) on DJ Mo's morning show, Keempee said, "Nasa KBP na 'yan e. Sila yung nagmo-monitor. I don't know about radio stations kung ano yung patakbo nila, kung ano yung policy nila. As long as hindi makakasama sa artista or hindi makaka-offend sa artista, hindi mag-aaway yung artista—at least yun yung iwasan nila."
He also added, "You're there to talk about your career, about your life, siyempre pampa-spice, pampa-init lang... Nasa hot seat ka or something like that. It's part of it [show business], it's how you handle it. It's how you answer the questions. Yun lang e."
Keempee has already said that he will never guest in DJ Mo Twister's program.
