At 10:50 a.m. today, April 29, Kris Aquino and James Jr. checked out of Makati Medical Center. The TV host-actress was carrying baby James in her arms and was in a wheelchair. The mother and child were seen leaving through the back entrance of the hospital.
Kris was accompanied by her maids and two nurses. Onlookers did not see James Yap around. The cager had a previously scheduled ball game in Baguio.
It's been ten days since the No. 1 host of ABS-CBN—Kris hosts Game KNB?, Kapamilya Deal or No Deal, and The Buzz, which puts her on TV every day of the week!—gave birth to her first child with husband James Yap. On April 19, Kris delivered the baby when she was only 35 weeks into her pregnancy. During a routine check-up, she began experiencing contractions.
Baby James weighed 4.3 pounds. He was immediately placed in an incubator and subjected to a ten-day antibiotics treatment.
"Ang haba ng kamay! Sana maging mana sa akin, di ba? Kasi nakikita ko na mahaba talaga ‘yong paa tsaka galamay," enthused James about his son in an interview with The Buzz.
Meantime, after her successful caesarian operation, Kris experienced some health complications.
Kris sent this official statement to The Buzz on April 22: "Hi everybody! My health is much worse than baby James's. I went through a battery of tests yesterday and had more than eight blood extractions, including three arterial blood gas [measurement]. And my CT [computerized tomography] scans only finished at 6 a.m. today, and that's how my team of doctors discovered a clot in my lung."
But it looks like everything is fine now. Today, Kris and her baby were on their way home to their Oakwood unit, where they are expected to recover in comfort and warmth.
