The Hunks—composed of Carlos "Amir" Agassi, Diether "Diet" Ocampo, Bernard "BJ" Palanca, Piolo "PJ" Pascual, and Jericho "Echo" Rosales—were launched March 2001 in A.S.A.P.
"'Yung concept na The Hunks, kay Deo (Endrinal) 'yon saka kay Mr. M (Johnny Manahan)," explains Talent Center artist representative Monch Novales. "Kasi that time, medyo nahahawa sa pagba-body building si Mr. M sa kanila, kaya nagka-idea. Maraming pinagpilian na names, pero nag-zero in din sa The Hunks."
Successful in their respective solo careers, the guys did not make it difficult for ABS-CBN to make them the hot male singing group.
Four years ago, successful concerts were mounted at the Folk Arts Theater and at the Music Museum, they went straight to wow Pinoy audiences in the U.S., Japan, Dubai, and Hong Kong. If these pictures prove anything, it's that there's no dull moment with The Hunks.
To date, The Hunks members have gone back to pursuing their solo careers.
