When Robert James Woods II finally got out of Big Brother's house last June 16, the first thing he did was to look for Saicy Aguila, a fellow Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 housemate who was evicted just days before him.
The people around him told him that he would see her soon. For Robert, being separated from the Samba Dancing Diva for one week was far too long. This is in complete contrast to his relationship with his longtime girlfriend, whom he has not seen for three years.
"It was a long distance relationship. When I came back [from England], I was hoping to fix the relationship again but pumasok ako sa Bahay ni Kuya, nandun na yung hope that things will work out. But I met Saicy and parang I accepted...For me, it's easy to accept the good traits ng tao pero ang hirap i-accept yung bad things ng tao."
He goes on to describe the traits that he likes most about Saicy: "She's malambing, sobrang lambing. Wala siyang kyeme. Wala siyang kaartehan. She's true to herself. To be honest, the whole personality of Saicy—who she is. Not who she will become in the future."
Robert and his girlfriend would have celebrated their fourth year anniversary come October but they broke it off just yesterday. The ninth evictee of the reality show tells PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) earlier today, June 21, how things ended between him and his former girlfriend.
"Noong pumasok ako sa [Big Brother] house, things changed. She's here in Alabang. She doesn't want to see me. I want to talk to her personally pero at the moment, hindi niya kaya.
"She texted me: ‘Spare me the shame.' Tinatawagan ko siya pero di niya sinasagot. She even told me, ‘Hindi ka naman pumunta sa Pilipinas para sa akin, e. Pumunta ka dito para sa PBB.'"
How did Robert feel about this rejection?
"Siyempre tao lang naman ako. I would feel something but it wasn't really that big. It's hard. I chose this and I chose to support Saicy. Nanghihinayang pero siyempre choice mo ‘to and kailangan mong panindigan ito. You have to stick to it."
"I'm honest naman to say that I've got feelings for Saicy. If ever I get the chance, I would pursue [Saicy] lalo't kakalabas lang at di ko pa alam kung anong mangyayari sa career path ko."
When PEP asked him if he has let go of his past relationship, Robert does not hesitate to say, "Yeah, I have let go." Is he in love with his former PBB housemate? "I have deep feelings for her," he admits.
SAICY ON THE HOT SEAT. Robert and Saicy are seated closely at 9501 Restaurant in ABS-CBN. The young man is obviously smitten by the young lady—the way he looks at her, places his arm protectively around her.
Now that Robert is free from his past relationship, is Saicy ready to do the same? "Sa ngayon po, naga-adjust pa po kami sa buhay sa labas ng Bahay."
The 23-year old samba dancer states that she is still in love with her boyfriend of one-and-a-half years. Saicy shares that he is one year younger than her and that he is a working student. "Siyempre, mahal ko pa rin siya. Pero sobrang busy kaya ‘di pa ako makareply. Gusto kong umuwi sa Bacolod to talk to him in person."
Will she end her relationship with her boyfriend? "Parang papunta na po dun." Is this because of Robert? "Sa career po muna ang priority ko."
When asked to compare Robert with her boyfriend, she quips, "Siyempre mas guwapo si Daddy Robert." In response, the 24-year old shift manager from England couldn't help but smile at Saicy's statement.
Turning serious, the Samba Dancing Diva from Bacolod City tells the press: "Ligawan muna ako dapat ni Daddy Robert. Kung ano yung pinapakita niya sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, dapat mas more pa."
On this note, Saicy and Robert share that they have gone out together—they've gone shopping together, at least. They went to Glorietta and Greenbelt recently with Say Alonzo and Robert treated Saicy in a fast food restaurant.
