"Syempre as a father gusto mo maging masaya ang pamilya mo t'saka masaya yung mga apo ko ‘pag nakikita nila yung father nila," said Eddie Gutierrez in a taped interview aired yesterday, August 19, in Showbiz Central. The former matinee idol was referring to the possibility of daughter, Ruffa Gutierrez, reuniting with Yilmaz Bektas.

Eddie Gutierrez implied he doesn't harbor any ill-feelings towards son-in-law, Yilmaz Bektas. This is despite all the bitter words the Turkish businessman publicly uttered against his daughter and the entire Gutierrez family six months ago.

"Syempre as a father gusto mo maging masaya ang pamilya mo t'saka masaya yung mga apo ko ‘pag nakikita nila yung father nila. So far wala pa, hindi pa kami nag-uusap...Oo, siguro in the future...Eventually, in the future kung magkabalikan sila ni Ruffa s'yempre magkakaayos din lahat," the former matinee idol said in a taped Showbiz Central interview aired on August 19.

Aside from sharing his thoughts regarding the Ruffa-Yilmaz reconciliation, Eddie's interview also tackled the unfortunate accident that befell him during the shooting of GMA-7's sinenovela, Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso.

Eddie was shooting a scene with co-star JC de Vera when the accident took place.

Eddie fell on the rocky ground and suffered a broken nose.

Eddie was immediately brought to a nearby hospital in Antipolo. Problem is, the hospital staff couldn't establish right away the severity of the injury. This prompted him, thanks mainly to the incessant prodding of wife, Annabelle Rama, to visit another hospital for another check-up.

"The next morning nag-decide kami...Si Annabel, pinilit akong dalhin sa Cardinal Santos," he said.

The X-ray done on Eddie revealed a chip on his nose bridge. According to him, "In-X-ray uli ako, na-find out nila na may konting chip sa bridge ng nose ko. Merong konting-konti lang daw."

Despite the unfortunate incident, Eddie still felt lucky because he only sustained a minor injury. "Hindi na raw kailangan operahan o hindi na raw kailangan lagyan ng metal plate," Eddie said with a sigh of relief.
