Erap and Susan, both desolate from the death of FPJ, have quiet time by the lagoon, which is home to swans, imported geese, and Japanese carp. Here's columnist Allan Diones on the pavilion-pond area: "May parang fiberglass na pangsangga para hindi ka mahulog sa pond, although may daan din pababa. Susan's first meeting with Erap in his resthouse in Tanay, Rizal was on Feb. 24, 2005. They talked in this pavilion, where a lanai overlooks the man-made lagoon.

"Bale 'yon ang una nilang pagkikita after mailibing si FPJ," says Boots Plata. "Masinsinan 'yon. Tatlong oras yata sila nag-usap." Indeed, her husband's death has changed Susan's priorities.

In April 2005, she was asked if she would act again, the former movie queen replied: "Hindi muna siguro...marami pa akong dapat gawin gaya nang makipag-usap sa aking mga kaibigan at sa mga kaibigan ng aking asawa. At iyon ang aking ginagawa ngayon. I think I owe it to my husband."

Two years after this meeting with Susan Roces, Joseph Estrada was given the verdict of "guilty" by the Sandiganbayan and was, again, placed under house arrest in his green and serene resthouse.
