"I don't see it but hopefully one day all of these will disappear and we could be friends again or maybe parents to our children," Martin in reaction to his ex-wife's, Pops Fernandez, revealing interview in YES! magazine.

And now the aftermath.

With Pops Fernandez exclusive tell-all interview in YES! magazine finally out in the open, her estranged husband Martin Nievera did not hesitate to express his displeasure on this latest development concerning his already annulled marriage.

"Beautiful article. I like the pictures. The picture's better than the words," Martin sarcastically said to Showbiz Central in a taped interview aired yesterday, September 23.

"It's better that I don't react. I mean it's best if one of us stop talking. Nine years to say sorry and nine years to get back on my feet again. And now with this article it didn't do anything but put me back in the beginning again. I made a mistake, I mean how many times are you gonna crucify me ‘di ba?" an upset Martin said before the camera.

THE REVELATION. In the October 2007 issue of YES!, Pops, after nearly a decade of silence, bared the details that led to the collapse of their once touted fairytale union.

Pops revealed in the interview how she gradually discovered Martin's affair with Katrina Ojeda.

"I was in the balcony [of our room] and I saw a lot of torn receipts. I didn't know what they were—I guess gifts that I was not meant to see, because it was like a whole bundle right outside the balcony. And I got shoes that didn't fit me. That one is a little pretty, I don't know. But he never makes mistakes when it comes to my size," recalled Pops.

There was also an instance when she heard Martin talking intimately with someone on the phone while they were vacationing abroad.

"I was about to go inside the banyo. He was on the phone, and he kept saying, ‘I love you. I really missed you.'"

Pops mentioned during the interview that she already had suspicions but was simply in denial until a close friend finally mustered enough courage to slap the absolute truth to her.

"Someone very dear to me had to sit me down and really tell me straight to my face na: ‘Your husband's fooling around. He's been going out with this Katrina girl, who is now in New York. She's been studying in New York. That's why when you were in New York, he probably left you for couple of days. And it's been going on for almost a year now. I'm telling you this because I'm so naaawa na with you, because you're the only one who does not know," Pops recalled.

Things eventually got worse to the point where Pops would openly mention Katrina's name to Martin during conversations—regardless if it was a tense one or not.

She cited one time when she asked Martin point blank: "Mart, can you please tell Katrina to stop telling her friends na you only married me because I got pregnant and your brother forced you to marry me because then the whole Philippines will be upset if you didn't marry me."

To which Martin coldly replied, "But it's true," before turning away to sleep.

TEXT CASE. Martin mentioned a few weeks back on how he tried to get in touch with Pops through sending several text messages but didn't receive even a single reply. Martin's purpose, he said, was to get their friendship right on track after their arguments.

The Concert Queen defended her coldness by arguing that she wants her ex-husband to exert a more personal approach rather than resort to modern technology in patching things up.

"I want it done more on the personal more than the hi-tech way. Texting for me is very impersonal. I mean if you really wanna be sorry you got to do it the proper way," Pops explained.

Martin, on the other hand, had something to say about that: "If you text me and I don't want you to text me anymore I would text you, I would say ‘Stop texting.' I don't think that's very hard. I think I deserve at least that. Tell me that you don't want a text, you want a personal greeting."

Both Martin and Pops are celebrating their 25 years in the industry and Pops is staging a major concert on December to celebrate the momentous event. She told Showbiz Central that despite the never-ending animosity between them, she will still try to invite Martin to watch the concert.

"Naghihintay lang ako ng tamang timing. Siyempre ayoko naman na mali 'yong timing ko. Inaamin ko naman talaga na 25 years of a Pops Fernandez won't be complete without Martin Nievera and I think vice-versa also," she said.

But Martin was apparently uncomfortable with the idea. "Even if I wanted to be there, it's not my place anymore. It's hard to celebrate a 25th year knowing that the most important person in my 25 years doesn't like me very much."
