Concert Queen Pops Fernandez has granted ABS-CBN exclusive TV rights for her upcoming 25th anniversary concert, titled "Diva-licious," at the Araneta Coliseum on December 8.
The contract inked by both parties yesterday, November 22, gave the Lopez-owned network permission to record and later on broadcast the big event.
Pops explained her decision to team up with ABS-CBN: "ABS-CBN is really a family to me. Somehow this is where I also grew up so it's extra special and meaningful if I work with those I really know inside and out of showbiz."
Talking to ABS-CBN News, Pops expressed gratitude. "Thank you for helping me throughout the 25 years, thank you for helping make my dreams come true and until now I'm still living the dream. [For me] it's still a big dream and I'm still here and without you I won't stay here that long."
On hand to personally welcome Pops during the contract signing were ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes and Deo Endrinal.
Joining Pops for the grand event are Gary Valenciano, Kuh Ledesma, Jay-R, John Prats, and Sharon Cuneta. Aside from the repertoire that will trace Pops's stellar career, the concert will also bring out the fashionista in her.
In an e-mail she sent to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the Concert Queen revealed the names of the heavyweight designers who will provide her attire for the evening.
"I will have a total of eight costume changes," she wrote excitedly, "cause the show will have a fashion show concept."
Rowell Santiago will direct the concert. Overseeing the musical aspect is renowned musical director, Homer Flores.
