PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) bumped into Kim Chiu recently during the awards night of the Cinema One Originals Digital Film Fest held at the Renaissance Hotel in Makati City.
Cinema One Originals is a venture of ABS-CBN's Cinema One channel. The undertaking aims to support original and unique full-length films by providing grants to independent directors and small producers.
Kim was one of the celebrities invited by the Cinema One committee as a presentor for the annual awards ceremony.
The chinita young actress admitted that given the right opportunity, she would love to star in an independent film someday.
"Opo," she smiled when asked if she's entertaining the thought of appearing in an indie project.
Kim said, "Kasi sabi nila sobrang honored ka daw ‘pag meron kang indie film, kasi napapalabas siya internationally, hindi lang sa Philippines but all around the world, kaya maganda daw."
Undoubtedly one of the biggest teen stars of 2007, Kim shyly admitted that she's still adjusting to the demands of her profession.
"Nag-a-adjust pa din lalo na sa mga ganitong formal event," she smiled. Kim, who looked very pretty in her blue gown, revealed that dressing for an occasion is one of the difficult aspects of being a celebrity. "Lahat 'yong susuotin mo magma-match dapat sa event. Isa pa yong ugali mo din, dapat marunong ka talagang mag-adjust," she said with a laugh.
For Christmas, Kim is going home to Cebu to be with her family and close relatives. "Uwi ako with my family kaya excited ako. Last year kasi hindi ako naka-uwi kaya excited ako ngayon."
As for her Christmas wish, "Sana magkaroon ako ng bagong soap [opera]," she said, crossing her fingers.
Her New Year's resolution is in line with her wish.
"New Year's resolution," paused Kim, siguro dapat ‘pag pupunta ako ng set, memorized ko na yong lines ko."
