Carmina and Zoren's adorable twins turn 7—the "High School Musical" way

Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi wanted their twins, Cassy and Mavy's 7th birthday to be complete fun and play. Uniformed in sporty casual outfits, the family amiably posed before the camera, a few hours before the High School Musical-themed party formally began.

Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi's adorable twins—Cassy (Maria Cassandra) and Mavy (Maverick Peter)—celebrated their 7th birthday at the Rizal Ballroom of Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City yesterday, January 13 (Sunday).

The twins are huge fans of the popular Disney film, High School Musical, and they wanted their party to be exactly like that.

"Tinanong ko sila kung gusto ba nila ng High School Musical na theme," Carmina said, recalling the early stages of the preparation, which started December last year, for the party.

Mavy and Cassy, said Carmina, nodded with glee the moment she pitched in the idea. The doting mom then tossed the ball to Party Station head Bing Madridejos, who immediately buckled down to work to make the necessary arrangements based on the concept.

Carmina, revealed Bing, was very specific in making the entire party like a carnival.

"Gusto lang ni Ms. Mina [Carmina] na everybody, free-for-all, na they can do whatever they want," enthused Bing. "Basically, gusto lang niya na walang hassle. Like for example ‘yong ganitong oras may magic show, wala... free-for-all lang talaga."

FESTIVAL ATMOSPHERE. The idea worked perfectly well as the kids joyously shifted from one booth to another without distraction. Keeping the kids preoccupied were the arts and crafts post, a photo station, a kiddie salon, and a glitter and art tattoo booth—all lined up vibrantly near the entrance of the vast ballroom decked with colorful balloons.

Aside from the sumptuous meal majestically placed at the buffet table, food stations serving waffles, ice cream, nachos, cotton candies, and Starbucks coffee [strongly lobbied by Carmina] kept everyone's tummy full-tank all the way ‘till early evening.

Carmina explained that choosing a posh indoor venue was necessary to accommodate the towering inflatable attractions such as the Inflatable Bounce, Inflatable Slide, and the hit among the kids and adults, Inflatable Sticky Wall. All three were provided by Carmina's brother, Paolo Villarroel.

"We just needed a high ceiling for these three inflatable stuff. E, kasi naman ‘yong mga clubhouses mabababa, e, so ‘yon lang naman 'yong pinaka-main reason why we end up in this venue," explained Carmina to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) She also confided the clincher for choosing the venue: "My sister-in-law kasi works here so big help talaga siya sa ‘kin."

between the two kids, it was Mavy who seems to have inherited his parents' natural flair before an audience. Before the program started, Mavy, standing beside his pretty sister, played the perfect host by cordially greeting and thanking everyone for taking time out to attend the party. Addressing all the parents, he said, in all cuteness, "Tell your kids to have fun."

All the kids jammed and sang along on a few High School Musical ditties led by the Jive band. A makeshift stage, adorned with the celebrators' names in bold letters, served as a podium for the entire show.

Some of the celebrities present were Eric Quizon, Susan Roces, Lorin and Venice Bektas, Ana Roces with 3-year-old daughter, Carmela, Gelli de Belen and husband Ariel Rivera together with their kids, Aiko Melendez accompanied by son Andre (by ex-husband, Jomari Yllana) and daughter Marthena, Paolo Contis and girlfriend Isabel Oli, Janice de Belen with her four lovely daughters (by estranged hubby, John Estrada), Bernadette Allyson plus kids, and Ian Veneracion together with his three kids.

For Carmina and Zoren, they wished nothing but good health for their twins and that they continue to be bright and good children, "as they've always been," said a smiling Zoren to PEP.
