Former child star Camille Prats, who gave birth to a healthy baby boy in Los Angeles, California last January 24, granted her first live interview to Showbiz Central yesterday, January 28.
"Sobrang saya... sobrang saya na nandidito na si Nathan!" enthused Camille to Showbiz Central host John "Sweet" Lapus by phone.
The child's full name, as reported here in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), last January 25 is Nathaniel Caesar or Nathan for short.
It was a normal delivery but, according to Camille, some last-minute tests were done before the doctor decided she was ready for delivery.
"It was very easy pero siyempre, punong-puno ng pagdadasal talaga from the moment na pinasok ako sa hospital," said Camille, whose pregnancy was announced to PEP by her mother, Mrs. Alma Prats, in an exclusive interview conducted last September 6, 2007.
Recalling the hospital drama prior to the actual delivery, Camille continued: "Kasi hindi naman talaga ako nagle-labor nun...and dapat pauuwiin pa ako ng doctor kasi gusto niya natural sana na labor. But then, noong tsinek niya ‘yong baby, in-ultrasound niya, 'yong amniotic fluid isn't enough anymore. So sabi niya, sige na ituloy na natin. So nine p.m., binigyan na nila ako ng gamot."
According to MedlinePlus, the amniotic fluid is "a clear, slightly yellowish liquid that surrounds the unborn baby (fetus) during pregnancy."
PROUD DADDY. Camille's husband, Anthony Linsangan, was beside her from the start until the final push that finally delivered Nathan.
"The whole time, nandoon siya sa tabi ko," said a proud Camille about Anthony who is a close family friend of the Prats.
"Pakiramdam niya, sobrang saya," continued Camille.
"While I was pushing, ang nakikita ko siya lang kasi siya ‘yong nasa tabi ko, 'tapos hawak niya ako. Nakita ko lang ‘yong reaction niya noong lumabas na 'yong baby kasi na-feel ko rin nung lumabas. 'Tapos parang sumigaw siya, nagulat siya tapos mula noon, hindi na natanggal 'yong tingin niya sa baby... Siya na 'yong gumipit ng umbilical cord, so lahat kami sobrang in bliss talaga."
Camille and Anthony formalized their union last January 5, 2008 through a civil wedding ceremony held in Los Angeles, California.
"Yes, we did get married here in LA," confirmed Camille. "It was a simple celebration kasama lang din relatives and our family and our special friends. Talagang pinlano namin na magpakasal talaga before I give birth."
Meanwhile, in a conversation with PEP, Camille said that it is likely that they will come back to the Philippines in March because they still need to take care Nathan's papers. Camille added that they will bless Nathan in Los Angeles, but the baptism will be held here in the Philippines since most of his godparents are based here.
