Beach revelers had a grand time during Holy Thursday (March 20) as the Sabado Boys—composed of Jimmy Bondoc, Mike Chan, Top Suzara and DJ Myke—serenaded MTV VJ Andi9 Manzano at the Pearl of the Pacific beach front in Boracay.
Armed with their acoustic guitars, the four singers rendered sweet tunes not just for Andi9 but also for everyone who went to the beach to escape the summer heat and take advantage of the long vacation.
The resort located in Station 1 was the perfect setting as the boys strummed and sang love songs for Andi9 and the audience just as the sun kissed the summer sky goodnight.
"Ang saya," said Jimmy to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview recently, a few days after their Boracay adventure. "Actually ang ganda din ng timing and sinadya din namin. Kasi we really wanted to perform habang bumababa ang araw to really set the mood and mas romantic ang dating."
The other members of the Sabado Boys—Paolo Santos and Luke Mijares—weren't able to join the trip to Bora because they had prior commitments.
Aside from performing at sunset, Andi9 and the Sabado Boys, together with the beach goers, played an impromptu volleyball game and frolicked on the white sand and the cool waters of Boracay.
"It's fun because we were able to perform while at the same time have our vacation as well," said Top with a smile.
Andi9 and the Sabado Boys also distributed posters and gamely posed for souvenir photos. As an added treat, the entire gang gave out free samples of Ellips cologne to keep everyone smelling good and fresh despite the non-stop activities going on.
No one knows what's in store for Andi9 and the Sabado Boys after Boracay, but they hinted that they would surely embark on more exciting events as part of their Ellips campaign and promo.
