"I think every girl naman [loves shopping], e, it's a therapy," said actress-singer Nancy Jane when PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spotted her during the opening of TOPSHOP's 11th store at Greenbelt 3 in Makati City last Friday, May 16.
Nancy joined the mini-shopping party that Topshop had prepared for its loyal customers. She was also happy with the discounts she got for the clothes she picked that night, pieces that are well-suited to her new image as a techno pop singer.
She told PEP, "In my lifestyle, siyempre house electronic, siyempre, you like to go out, di ba? So, it's nice to have the nicest outfit or, at least, you know, something that's in. And I like to play with clothes, e."
Nancy Jane, Nancy's preferred name in the music scene, added, "Topshop has a bunch of different clothes like, girly skirts, jeans, everything. It's a good source to complete many different kinds of styles."
As Nancy went around the shop, PEP saw Nancy checking out some dresses and some skinny jeans. Later on, Nancy revealed, "Right now, I like dresses, short dresses because I like not having to think sometimes, di ba, mixing and matching. You can just throw on something, you can wear it with tsinelas, you can wear it with heels for gimmicks."
Bonna Cheng, group brand manager for Arcadia Brand, seconded Nancy's comment about the clothes that are being sold in Topshop.
"All the items here, you can mix and match. You can always change them into something more formal, just add a jacket or just add a shawl or something. The clothes are very flexible–you can wear it on daytime or nighttime."
Aside from Nancy, personalities like MYX VJ Sanya Smith and other models also attended the shopping party.
Topshop's flagship store is located in London. It's part of the Arcadia Brand group, which consists of Topshop, Topman, Warehouse, Dorothy Perkins, and Wallis.
Right now it is being endorsed by international supermodel Kate Moss. PEP asked about the possibility of tapping a local endorser for Topshop.
Cheng simply replied, "As of the moment, there are no plans. But we're very happy to sponsor local celebrities."
