It's hard to believe that Judy Ann Santos has just turned 30. After all, many still remember her as Ula, ang batang gubat, and Mara in Mara Clara. But Juday, as many fondly call her, has long since graduated from the teenybopper roles that had her crying buckets of tears as the underdog. Today, she is one of showbiz's finest actresses, and 21 years in the industry can attest to her talent and staying power.
"I never expected naman na tatagal ako nang ganito sa industriya," Juday tells Cosmopolitan magazine in their June issue, "Para bang, ‘Wow, God, gaano ba kabuting tao ako para magkaroon ng ganito kadaming blessings?"
The blessings are indeed pouring in Juday's life: she has a flourishing career, a beautiful daughter, an adoring fiancé, a slimmer figure, and countless endorsements that make her name hotter by the minute. "Ninanamnam ko yung bawat endorsement," she says, "kasi kahit naman nung bata ako, hindi ko naisip na gagawa ako ng madaming endorsements."
Of course, Juday's 21 years in show business had not been smooth sailing all throughout. She is the first to admit that she has gone through her fair share of hardships through the years. "Hindi naman all the time masarap ang buhay," she says, "May kapalit din ‘yan. You get hurt, but then you think din, baka ito ang paraan ni God para tumibay ako."
All those hardships and trials have taught Juday one valuable lesson. "I've learned to value a lot of things—like money, taking a vacation, taking a break, and spending time with my family," she shares with Cosmo, "Marami akong trabaho, pero I still choose to be with the people I love when I'm tired. Para good vibes ka lang palagi."
Juday may have hit the Big 3-0, but it's clear that the best times of her life are still to come. She talks lengthily about her life lessons, her relationship with Ryan Agoncillo, and her plans for the wedding that everyone is waiting for in the June issue of Cosmo.
