Vic Sotto is now a proud grandfather.
The 54-year-old comedian-TV host was very excited when he found out thathis eldest daughter Danica Sotto had already given birth to her first son withhusband, basketball player Marc Pingris.
"Sinilip ko yung bata sa nursery and the feeling isindescribable," related Vic to GMA News reporter Nelson Canlas.
The first-time grandfather described his grandson:"He's super adorable and cute. Parangkamukha ni Danica na ayaw namang pumayag ng tatay [Marc] at sabi, ‘Hindi,pagtagal-tagal niyan, hahaba na rin ang mukha niyan.'"
The baby's name is Jean-Michele, a French-sounding nameattributed to Marc's French bloodline. Danica had to give birth via caesarean section because of the size ofthe baby, who weighed 8.2 lbs. and measured 55 centimeters.
Aside from his excitement, Vic also managed to crack a jokeabout his grandson's name. When askedabout the child's nickname, Vic answered in jest, "Ang pinoproblema na langnila 'yong nickname, kung anong itatawag. Ayaw nilang tanggapin, e, Jun-Jun!"
Vic recently finished his movie project Double Troublewith Comedy King Dolphy. Headmitted that he used to envy his co-actor, who already has severalgrandchildren. But now Vic is glad thathe can relate to Dolphy when talking about being a grandparent.
"Lolo na ako katuladni Dolphy. Noong una, medyo naiinggitako kay Dolphy. Ngayon, pareho nakaming lolo," said Vic.
On the other hand, Vic refused to be called "lolo" by hisgrandchild. He said, "Sa amin, ang tawagan ng lolo is tatay, e, so tatay narin ang tawag sa akin."
