PEP EXCLUSIVE: Dingdong Dantes went "blackout" during the Bench fashion event


On his 28th birthday, DingdongDantes simply wishes, "For things to fall in the proper place."

Entertainment news reported that Dingdong Dantes was one ofthe crowd favorites during the biennial fashion event of Bench, Blackout: The Denim and Underwear Fashion Show.

Some of the spectatorswere even thrilled to see him slowly unzip his pants to reveal only his Bench underwear. Likehis fans, Dingdong also felt excited to walk the ramp because it was the "first time, first everything."

As one of the newestBench Body endorsers, Dingdong said, "It's [Blackout] more memorable, 'yong[production], just like the pictorial, the process of how I prepared for it,"the hunky actor said when PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) visited the setof Dyesebel last July 29, in Subic, Zambales.

Although the audience inside the Big Dome expected tosee their favorite celebrities wearing only their undies, Dingdong said that thefashion show was about much more.

"It's not just about that. It's a show, it's fun, and it's part ofthe tradition ng Bench—to showcase their talent and produkto nila. It's a perfect venue na magsama-sama 'yongmga taga-ibang istasyon, alam mo 'yon, nagkakaisa lahat sila."

Dingdong became hesitant when PEP asked for hisopinion about the "most applauded" issue that came out after the event. (Clickhere to read related article ) Dingdong said, "Parang ayaw kona munang mag-comment diyan, a."

He explained that he did not notice the reaction of thecrowd while he was walking on the ramp. "When I came out, wala akong nakikita,wala akong masyadong nakita, much more wala akong narinig. Ganun ako kapag concentrated sa ginagawa ko,parang nagkakaroon ako ng blackout talaga.

"So, ang focus ko lang talaga, e, gawin ko lang ang dapatkong gawin and tapusin ko lang 'yon, 'yon lang naman iyon. So, kung ano man 'yong reaction afterwards,hindi ko siya nakita, hindi ko siya narinig."


After giving his statement, Dingdong clarified that therewas really no personal rift between him and Richard Gutierrez, whose momenton the show was overshadowed by Dingdong's. "Never, never naman nagkaroon [ng rift]," he stressed.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS. Dingdong pays little attention to issues in the aftermath of Blackout since he's already busy with work, especially this August, which is his birth month.

On Sunday, August 3, he will celebrate his birthdayin SOP; his actual birthday though is August 2. Dingdong and onscreenpartner Marian Rivera, who celebrates her 24th birthday onAugust 12, will be given a special treat throughout the show.

Their mother network is also planning agrand birthday celebration for Dingdong-Marian fans on August 27 atthe Araneta Coliseum, Cubao, Quezon City.

Dingdong has noidea yet about the details of the event. Instead, he just told PEP, "We're planning to get together, 'yon nga, birthday special para sa mga supporters namin. It's going to be in Araneta [Coliseum]. Isa siyang malaking birthdayspecial, lahat ng mga hits ni Marian, makikita n'yo doon, lahat ng mga kalokohanna puwede mong gawin, makikita mo doon.

"Masaya lang siya. It's a fun party, iba ito sa nakikita ninyo sa TV, hindi kami uma-actingdito. We will still perform, mga kunganu-anong klaseng mga song and dance numbers. Kahit ako hindi ko pa alam kung ano talaga, pero I'm sure it's going tobe fun."

Of course, Dingdong will not forget his avid fans, who havesupported him since he started his career in showbiz. The actor said that the fans are also planning to give him aparty on August 3.

"Actually, party nila para sa akin. Yearly 'yan, e," said Dingdong. "I really spend a lot time sa aking birthday na makasama ko sila,taun-taon, magmula nang magsimula ako. They are the same people that are stillthere, so mahalaga sila sa akin."


On his 28th birthday, Dingdong said that he stillwants to enjoy what he's receiving right now. "Enjoy lang, wala pang masyadong seryosong [plan] at saka na iyan,"ended Dingdong.
